Supported browsers and operating systems

  • Updated

Whether you're managing your own galleries or simply viewing someone's photos, it's a good idea to make sure the tools you're using are compatible with ours. We're flexible and do our best to support all we can, but technology keeps improving and we want to ensure your experience keeps improving along with it. If something doesn't look right to you, we recommend upgrading your browser to the most current version for your operating system.

Fully supported browsers.

Windows 11: Latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, and Edge.

Windows 10: Latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, and Edge.

Windows 8: Latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, and Edge.

Microsoft ended support for Windows 7 in January 2020. And Microsoft no longer supports XP or Vista. We recommend updating your operating system and browser to ensure your SmugMug experience isn't affected by this change.

Latest macOS: Latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.

iOS: Latest version of Safari; latest version of iOS.

Android: Latest version of Chrome; latest version of Android OS.

We support production-ready browsers, so if you're using a beta version* and something looks funny, please try one of the browsers listed above. We love Safari and Firefox, and they're both free and easy to install. They'll work on both Mac and PC.

* Browsers such as Opera, Brave, and Firefox ESR aren't officially supported. We don't like to repeat ourselves, but if something isn't quite working right and you're using one of these browsers, first make sure you're using the most recent version of the browser; if that still doesn't work, try using Safari, Firefox, Chrome, or Edge, which we do fully support.

Mobile devices.

Not at your desk? Not a problem.

  • View your site on any iOS, Android, or Windows mobile device using the latest version of iOS, Android, or Windows operating systems.
