Collaborator Logins is an add‑on subscription that lets you give another team member access to your account with limited, controlled permissions. Pro accounts include two Collaborator seats at no additional cost; beyond that, additional seats are available as a paid add‑on. Each collaborator sets up their own dedicated login and can perform specific actions on your behalf, while sensitive areas stay restricted to keep your account secure. It's the updated, more streamlined version of our original Assistant login system, giving you finer‑grained access control for the trusted members of your team..
This feature is available to all plans as an add-on subscription. Pro subscribers receive two seats with their subscription.

Add a collaborator.
Follow the steps below to add a new collaborator to your account.
- Visit the Manage Collaborators page: Site Settings > Privacy > Manage Collaborators
- Click on the button Add a New Collaborator

Enter name and email address for your new collaborator
- This sends an email invitation that the collaborator needs to view and accept
- Your collaborator will then accept the invite, and create a collaborator account
- Once created, they will have access to your account, with limitations. See below.
Limitations and available actions for collaborator accounts:
- Collaborators can see only the Stats and Contacts tabs in your Site Settings. Everything else is hidden.
- Collaborators can see your pro pricing in the shopping cart. They can't order prints "at cost."
- Collaborators can't access, or download, galleries, folders, or pages that are Private (Only Me).
- Collaborators can't delete photos or galleries or replace photos.
- Collaborators can't customize your site.
- Collaborators can't use the credit card on the account to buy prints.
- Collaborators can't use the Hide feature to hide a photo or video in a gallery.
- Collaborators can't see photos and videos that you've hidden using the Hide feature.
- Collaborators can't use Multi-factor authentication (MFA) to log in to an account.
- Collaborators can't receive notifications within the iOS and Android apps.

Remove a collaborator.
- Visit the Manage Collaborators page: Site Settings > Privacy > Manage Collaborators
- Locate the collaborator that you'd like to remove and click the Remove link on the right side.
- This will remove their access to your account, and at this time, also close their collaborator account.

Re-add a past collaborator that you previously removed.
- At this time, you'll follow the same steps as adding a new collaborator.
- Visit the Manage Collaborators page: Site Settings > Privacy > Manage Collaborators
- Click on the button Add a New Collaborator
- Enter name and email address for your new collaborator
- This sends an email invitation that the collaborator needs to view and accept
- Your collaborator will then accept the invite, and create a collaborator account
- Once created, they will have access to your account, with limitations as described above.

Adding additional collaborators.
Account will have a limit of up to 100 collaborators. If more collaborators are needed, contact Customer Support.
- Visit the Manage Collaborators page: Site Settings > Privacy > Manage Collaborators
- Click on the link request additional collaborators.
- A form will open. Here you'll fill in the field for how many collaborators you are requesting.
- Click submit.
- The form will be submitted to our team.
- You'll either see the additional collaborator roles added within 48-72 hours, or receive further email communication from us within 48-72 hours regarding your request.
- Please do not send a new email to our support heroes to ask for the status of your request.
Collaborator account options.
When you receive your invitation to collaborate, click the Accept Invitation or Decline to proceed.

On the next screen you can edit your name, enter a password and check the box to agree to the SmugMug terms > Create SmugMug Account. Save your login information. These are your credentials for your collaborator account.

You will then be logged into the account on the dashboard as a collaborator, from there you can access the library, the organizer and limited site settings.
Note: At this time, collaborator account options, as far as viewing your account and profile, are limited.
During early testing phases, you will not be able to change your email or password while logged in.
However, if you do forget your password, you can follow the option at smugmug.com to reset your password when logged out.
MFA is not currently available on these accounts, but will be in a later release.
Want to cancel your collaborator account? Select the Me icon top right > Edit My Profile > Close Account. On the next screen confirm by clicking, Close My Account. This will immediately close your collaborator account.
