Your Site Settings are where you’ll manage everything about your SmugMug account, from your subscription details to your site-wide privacy options to the business tools on a Portfolio or Pro plan. You can access these settings from the global nav bar on any page of your site. In this article, we’ll show you where to find your Site Settings and explain what each setting does.
Locate Your Site Settings
- Click the Profile Icon in the top-right corner of the global nav bar to open the drop-down menu.
- Click Site Settings to open them.
Explore the Site Settings Options
Each section in Site Settings allows you to control specific aspects of your site:
Site tab:
Manage your account email address and password, your subscription information and payment details, access your receipts for subscriptions and orders, and manage your gallery settings presets.

- Change your account user name and its url.
- Update your account email address.
- Update your password.
- Time Zone.
- Set up multi-factor authentication.
- Set up a custom domain name.

Subscription
- Manage your the details for your SmugMug and your SmugMug Source subscriptions.

Notifications
- Set up notifications for viewer comments and for failed password attempts for your site.

Refer-a-friend
- Track your earned referral credits
- Copy your refer-a-friend link to share with others.

Receipts
- View and download receipts for your subscription renewals and logged in print orders.

Gallery Presets
- Manage your gallery setting presets.
Privacy tab:
Set up your site level privacy settings and manage access to your account by other services.

Site access
- Control visitor access to your SmugMug account at the site level.
- Site privacy settings impact visitor access to all of your site content.
- Folder, gallery, and page privacy settings can be used to further control access at those levels.
- Assistant Password for Pro accounts.

Image analysis
- This feature analyzes images for common objects, scenes, and geographic data to help them be found by search engines.
- Available to accounts that have SmugMug Source subscriptions and to users of the SmugMug Android app.
- Tags from Image Analysis are not added to photos as keywords.
- This feature is on by default. You have the option to turn these features on or off:
- Identify objects and scenes within photos, such as dogs, trees, or mountains.
- Determine geographic information for photos with GPS data

Right click message
- Available on Power, Portfolio, and Pro plans.
- The message displays when a viewer right clicks an image to save it.
- Create a custom right click message or use the default message we’ve created.
- Control the display of this message with your gallery settings.

Feeds
- Display the feeds icon in galleries to allow visitors to follow your gallery with a feed.

Authorized services
- Grant permissions for other software to access your SmugMug account.

External services
- Grant permission for SmugMug to access other software services.

Frame.io
- Grant permission for frame.io enabled devices to access your SmugMug account.

Access your data
- View your SmugMug account details.
Discovery tab:
Set permissions for sharing and search engine optimization for your SmugMug site.

Sharing
- Turn the display of social media share icons ON site wide. These sharing options can be disabled at the gallery level via your gallery settings.

Search
- Manage your account visibility to search engines.
- Add descriptive text about your site for search engines to index.
Stats tab:
Track your photo and gallery views, visitor comments, and your SmugMug uploads and Source storage.

Photo views
- Explore statistics of photo views over time, and by gallery.

Comments
- Review visitor comments on your photos.

Share emails
- Track emails sent using the gallery level email share tool here.

Uploads
- View the total upload count on your SmugMug site, and the total storage on your SmugMug Source account.

Google Analytics
- Add Google Analytics statistics tracking to your SmugMug account.

Stat counter
- Add Stat Counter (a paid third party service) tracking to your SmugMug account.
Business tab:
If you have a Portfolio or Pro plan, you’ll have the Business tab in your Site Settings. Manage your order branding, profit payment details, and review those payments here.

- Add your own branding to your customer orders.
- Fees apply.

- Review your profit payment information.
- Manage your profit payments.

Payment history
- Review your past profit payment details.
Contacts tab:
- Add and edit contact email information for your private sharing guests and for email sends from the share tools in your galleries.
