This article explains the customization options that are available on the Basic plan. This plan is no longer an available plan option for new customers or plan changes.
As an existing SmugMug Basic account holder, you have access to all the gallery styles, hierarchy, organization, and content-management tools we've created. Plus you're able to customize your site's theme! Themes control your page and font colors and font styles.
Get started.
Start by clicking on Site in the navigation bar, select the drop down, and then click on Change Site Theme in the section bar.
You'll be able to see what each theme will look like on your homepage. Change the theme until you find the look that's just right for you!
When you've made your decision, click on Done to publish your chosen theme—while knowing you can change your theme at any time to suit your mood.
Once you've got a theme in place, consider adding some Content Blocks to your Homepage.
Personalize your homepage.
Select Site in the navigation bar, then click Customize Design in the section bar to reveal all the goodies you can add to your homepage. You'll have access to Content, Themes, Background, and Layout.
On this example, we've added the Profile content block (found under Social) and a Folders, Galleries, & Pages content block (found under Galleries) displaying our available content.
All existing Basic accounts also include video uploading, storage, and playback!

Important: Although you have the option to change gallery styles, customizing those gallery styles is a feature only available on Power, Portfolio, and Pro accounts.
